Terms of Service

English translation for convenience. This is a courtesy translation of the Italian document, which is the legally binding version. In case of any discrepancy, the Italian version prevails.
By using the Squamy app and website you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.
1. The service
Squamy is an application for managing and monitoring enclosures and the animals living in them (feedings, sheds, weight, temperatures and humidity, maintenance). The core features are free and work offline. Some features ("Premium") require a paid subscription.
2. Proper use
- You agree not to use the service for unlawful purposes or in violation of others' rights.
- You are responsible for the data you enter and, if you enable an account, for your login credentials.
3. No professional advice
Squamy is a support tool. Its indications, ranges and alerts are for informational purposes and do not replace the judgement of a vet or another professional, nor do they guarantee the health of the animals you keep. The species cards in the catalogue are reference material, not a husbandry protocol. Management decisions remain yours.
4. Premium subscriptions
⚠️ Premium is not on sale at the moment: Squamy has no store listing yet. The conditions in this section describe the subscription as it will be once sales open, and the prices shown are the planned ones.
The Free plan requires no payment. The Premium plan is an auto-renewing subscription, in two forms: €3.99/month or €29.99/year. The prices shown in the app include any applicable taxes, may vary by country and currency, and are always shown to you before you confirm the purchase.
Purchase and payment. The subscription is bought from the Android app through Google Play, which handles the payment under its own terms: we never receive or store your card details. A Squamy account is required and the subscription is tied to that account: it applies on every device where you sign in with the same credentials. It cannot be bought on web or Windows.
Renewal and cancellation. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the same price, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the subscriptions section of Google Play (or from Account → Manage subscription in the app): cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, during which Premium stays active. Uninstalling the app does not cancel the subscription.
Withdrawal and refunds. The subscription gives immediate access to digital content: by purchasing it you request immediate performance and acknowledge that, once performance has begun, you lose the 14-day right of withdrawal (art. 59 of the Italian Consumer Code). Refund requests go to Google Play, which handles them under its own policies (Play Store → Order history → Report a problem); once a refund is granted, Premium switches off.
Promotions and gifted Premium. Any free promotional period (for example a launch code) continues as a paid subscription when it ends, unless cancelled before then. Premium granted free of charge (testers, support) involves no payment, may have an end date shown in the Account card, and may be revoked in case of abuse.
Changes to the plan. We may change the price and the contents of the Premium plan: changes apply to subsequent renewals, are communicated in advance according to the store's rules, and leave your right to cancel and the terms of the period already paid for unaffected.
If the Premium service is discontinued for good, you will be able to export your data and no further renewals will be charged.
5. Intellectual property
The "Squamy" trademark, the logo, the design and the software are owned by the operator. The data you enter remains yours.
6. Limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages or loss of data arising from use of the service. We recommend keeping copies of important data.
7. Changes
We may update these terms; changes will be published on this page with the relevant date.
8. Governing law and contacts
These terms are governed by Italian law. For any communication: [email protected].
